Clarrey Staples was Born Oct 19 1810. Unsure of spelling of her name,it maybe Clarissa. In Thomas Staples Family Bible it is spelledClarica in two separate entries, however, on a small note page entryit is clearly, Clarrey, which may have been a nickname and it isspelled as Clarrey in the war record of her father, John Staples.Although spelled Clarica in the Bible entries her name could have beenpronounced as Clarissa. Shown as Clarissa in the 1850 Morgan CountyCensus. Listed as Clarissa by several Staples researchers and asClerisy by some sources.
