He had lived in Coalfield most of his life, with the exception of four years that he lived in Huntsville. Before bebecoming ill, he was employed as a phlebotomist at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mr. Cox is survived by his mother, Jeannette Cox of Oak Ridge; his father, Allen Cox II of Newnan, Ga.; two sons and a daughter, Allen C. Cox IV and William Oscar Cox, both of Harriman, and Whitney Cox, a student a tLinden Elementary School; his maternal grandparents, W.B. "Bill" and Thelma Lyles of Coalfield; and by his paternal grandparents, Clara and Allen Cox Sr. of Louisville, Ky. Gina Phillips Cox of Harriman is his former wife.
