Notes:

James H. "Jim" Hudson, 83, of Coalfield, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.
He was born in Oliver Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli M. and Sallie Chiles Hud-son.
Survivors include his wife, June Jones Hudson; and two sons, James G. Hudson and Paul Hudson.
The family will receive friends and celebrate his life from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs. Funeral service will follow. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Estes Cemetery, Coalfield, with Mike Jones officiating.

Faye June Hudson, 88, of Coalfield, Tennessee, passed away early Sunday morning, August 9,2020. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 58 years, James Houston Hudson, who she loved dearly. She was born on June 6, 1932 in Coalfield. Her parents were the late Guy Walter Jones, Sr. and Frankie Mae Queener Jones, also of Coalfield. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 78 years.

She is survived by her two sons, James Guy Hudson of Knoxville and Paul Christopher Hudson and wife, Natascha and grandchildren, Olivia Grace and Blake Houston of Coalfield. She was one of nine children and survived by siblings Janice Hale, Jeanette Babb, Judy Slack, Jackie Maston and Joe Jones and was preceded in death by siblings Guy Jones Jr., Jerry Jones and Joyce Cox. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, who were dear to her.

She retired from Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), where she worked for nearly 40 years. After retirement and having grandchildren, she affectionately became known as

JONES, FRANKIE MAE QUEENER, 96, of Coalfield, died Saturday, Sept. 13,2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mrs. Jones was thedaughter of Henderson and Margaret Queener, both now deceased.According to her family she was a loving motherer, grandmother, andgreat-grandmother, and she was a member of Pleasant Grove BaptistChurch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by herhusband of 66 years, Guy W. Jones Sr.; two sons, Guy W. Jones Jr. andJerry Jones; a daughterr, Joyce W. Jones Cox; two infant children, PaulGene Jones and Joanne Jones; and by two brothers Jim Queener and RoyQueener. Mrs. Jones is survived by a son, Joe V. Jones and wife, Judy,of Rockwood; five daughters, June Hudson and husband, Jamess, JaniceHale and husband, Harry, Jeanette Babb and husband, James, Judy Slackand husband, Charles, and Jackie Maston and husband, Dwight, all ofCoalfield; a son-in-law, Johnny C. Married:
Frankie Queener, daughter of Henderson/Henison Queener, has in her obituary her father's name as Henderson. Ancestry, however, shows a delayed birth certificate with the name as Henison. The delayed birth certificate included her father as a withness as to her birth date and place. The birth certificate is attached elsewhere in this family's documentation. (J. Spradlin)
The 1910 census lists Henderson and Magie Queener as living in Bell Co. KY on Big Bear Creek. Frankie is 4 and Jim is 2. All were born in Tennessee except for Henderson's mother, who was born in KY. Next door to them appears to be Henderson''s brother, whose name appears to be Lihue or Lukie and whose mother was also born in KY (he, wife and children born in TN). Lukie/Lihue's wife was Deller and his son was Haisel, possibly actually pronounced Hassel (hastle) or Hazel. Given that both Lukie and Henderson's fathers were born in TN and their mother(s) were born in KY, plus their ages were 20 (Lukie) and 23 (Henderson) and that they were not only neighbors but shared common employment of coal miners, it is highly likely that Lukie and Henderson were brothers if not very close cousins. The census record is attached elsewhere for documentation of these conclusions.
