    Notes:

    Donna Ward Reynolds, age 63, a resident of Murfreesboro, and a former resident of Coalfield, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mrs. Reynolds was born March 6, 1946 in Roane County. She lived in Coalfield until her move to Murfreesboro in 2005. Mrs. Reynolds was a retired school teacher and assistant principal. She taught kindergarten for 30 years at the Petros-Joyner School and retired in 2000. She believed if a young child had the proper seeds planted, the only thing that would ever stop them would be their own lack of desire. She wanted the best for the students she taught and was always happy to see a former student excel. She loved Morgan County and especially the Coalfield and Petros-Joyner communities. Donna was often involved in Coalfield Civic activities and she often offered advice and a helping hand to someone in need. She had deep spiritual convictions and was a member of the Crossway Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN and a former member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Coalfield. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Juanita Ruffner Ward. Donna is survived by her husband William Reynolds, by a daughter NaTosha Haney and husband David of Murfreesboro and a much anticipated grandchild who is expected in September. She is also survived by a sister, Deborah Malaga and husband Jerry of Murfreesboro. Donna has a step-daughter, Rachel Jarrell of Chattanooga, and three step-grandchildren. She is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly. A celebration of life service will be Friday at 7:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Dr. Tony Long officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Crossway Baptist Church Building Fund, 4194 Shelbyville Pk, Murfreesboro, TN 37127 The family will receive friends Sunday, between the hours of 6 pm until the service at 8 pm with Dr. Tony Long and Dr. Billy Edmonds officiating at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs, TN.     WARD, CHARLES FREDRICK, JR. - Services are being held this afternoonfor Charles Frederick Ward Jr., who died Saturday morning of injuriessustained in a traffic accident. According to the family, Mr. Ward,69, was seriously injured late Friday night in a head-on collisionwhile he was traveling between Oliver Springs and Wartburg. Mr. Wardwas taken to the Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center, where heunderwent surgery for several hours. He died of heart failure at about7 a.m. Saturday morniing. The family said Mr.Ward was to be marriedSaturday to Betty Cross of Oneida. Funeral services are scheduled at 2p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Coalfield.The Revs. FloydPowell, Julius Mahon and Billy Edmonds will officiate.Buriaial will beat Davis Cemetery in Oliver Springs. Mr. Ward was a sheetmetal workerand boilermaker at Oak Ridge National Laboratory until his retirementfrom the Union Carbide Corp. in 1971. Prior to that, he was a coalminer. He was also widely knowown in Knoxville and surroundingcommunities for his hobby, which involved buying used photographicsupplies and recovering the silver from them. He was a member of thePleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he was in the choir and taughtSunday school for 40 years. He founded the Coalfield Volunteer FireDepartment and also performed with the Sons of Praise Quartet. He wasa member and past president of the Coalfield Lions Club. He issurvived by his daughters, Donna Neal, Deborah Malaga; brothers,Kenneth Ward and Eugene Ward; sisters, Florine Jackson and ShirleyFoster; granddaughter NaTosha Neal, all of Coalfield; and severalnieces and nephews.
