    Notes:

    Elmer W. "Sleepy" Cox, 73, of Harriman, died Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
    Mr. Cox was retired from the Eaton Axle Co., Cleveland, Ohio, where he had worked for 30 years.
    He was born on May 9, 1924, in Windrock, the son of the Rev. E.M. Cox and Sarah Shoopman Cox. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
    Mr. Cox was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs.
    He is survived by his wife, Mary Pride Waller Cox; a stepson, Chris Waller and his wife, Resa, of Harriman; and three step-grandchildren, Brandy, Caresa and Harley Waller.
    Mr. Cox is also survived by seven sisters-in-law, Edna Lynn, Pearl West and her husband, Harold, Joyce Patterson, Pat Thomas, Lois Huskey and her husband, Ralph, Mamie Vickery and her husband, Earl, and Hazel Bolden, all of Oliver Springs; four brothers-in-law, Roy Lively and his wife, Evelyn, Carl Lively and his wife, Bernice, all of Oliver Springs, Harlan R. Walls of Knoxville and Joe Cleve Daugherty of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
    Friends he considered special were Nancy Chadwick of Oliver Springs, Matt Sarama of Harriman, Irv Boxerbaum, Joe Losky, Bob and Shirley Robinson, all of Ohio, and Tom Euton and family, Ruby Martin and family, all of Georgia.
    Four sisters and a brother, Mildred Walls, Elizabeth Cox, Helen DeLung, Faye Daugherty and Lloyd W. Cox, died earlier.
    The funeral was held at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 7, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Garvan Walls officiating.
    A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Oliver Springs.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
