- DUNCAN, MRS. MOZELL FORD, age 91 of Petros, TN passed away suddenly at her home Thursday, January 15, 2009. She was born January 11, 1918 and had celebrated her birthday this past week with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an active Christian and a life-long member of Petros Baptist Church. She was a former Sunday School teacher, choir member, and worked on various committees. She was an active member of the Petros Senior Citizens group and the Ladies Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence Duncan, who passed away in 1999 on their 59th Wedding Anniversary. She was also
preceded in death by her parents: Bill and Essie Ford; brothers: Grady Ford of Florida and Earl Ford of Mt. Juliet; and a sister, Willene Hicks Russell of Oliver Springs. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sharon Duncan of Oak Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dickey Justice of Coalfield; and an adopted son, Joe Duncan and wife, Judy of Petros. Grandchildren: Renee Duncan of Oak Ridge, Melody Kees, and husband Bill
of Coalfield, Jeremy Duncan and wife, Annie of Knoxville, and Tracy Justice and wife, Cheryl of Louisville, KY. Great-grandchildren: Jake and Eva Hubbard, Colton and Carlee Kees, Drew and John Duncan, and Sean Morley; brother, Dean Ford of Oliver Springs; sister, Peggy Langley of Oliver Springs; sisters-in-law: Alice Ford of Mt. Juliet and Lucy Patrick of Petros; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Also three special cousins: Wilma Davis, Sue Ann Liles, and
Judy Layne, all of Petros. The family will receive Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at
Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00
p.m. with Dr. Jim West and Rev. Ronald Guthrie officiating. Graveside
services will be held Sunday, January 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the Anderson
Memorial Gardens, Clinton.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor
to Petros Baptist Church or Petros Senior Citizens Group.
