    • BRASEL, NATHAN LEE, 82, Wartburg, passed away Monday Oct. 1, 2001 inParkwest Hospital in Knoxville. He was born May 24, 1919 and was aWorld War II Veteran. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church. Hewas preceded in death by his wife Edna Settles Brasel; parents VerdieLee Brasle and Grace Wilson Brasel; and brothers Claude and RoyBrasel. He is survived by one son Billy Lee Brasel and wife Linda ofWartburg; daughters Bobbie Schnaible and husband Norman of Gillette,Wy., Judy Jarvis and husband Russell, Mary Thompson and husband Bruceand Wanda Walls and husband George, all of Kentucky, and Betty JoSaffell of Wartburg; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; twosisters Iva Summers of Joyner and Helen Hawn of Crab Orchard; twovery special brothers-in-law Carl and Lawrence Settles; and a host ofnieces, nephews and friends. The family received friends Wednesday,Oct. 3, 2001 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg.Funeral services began at 8 p.m. with Rev. Homer Hooks and Rev. MarkSmith officiating.
