- RUSSELL, LIZZIE MAE, 92, of Coalfield, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004,in Dalton, Ga. Born Sept. 8, 1911, in the Wheat community, she was thedaughter of Charles and Lottie Wilson Shelton. Mrs. Russell was amember of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She retired from the U.S.Postal Service, where she had worked as a postmaster for approximately38 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linis HowardRussell and first husband, Granville Wilson, a son, Jerry S. Wilson,and several brothers and a sister. Mrs. Russell is survived by herdaughter, Penney Sisson and husband, Perry, of Cohutta, Ga.; her son,Mickey Wilson and wife, Helen, of Georgetown, Texas; her grandson,Preston S. Wilson and wife, Lila, of Austin, Texas; and hergreat-granddaughter, Lily Wilson of Austin, Texas. She is alsosurvived by her brother-in-law, R. B. Russell of Oliver Springs; fivesisters-in-law, Arvana Helton and husband, Bobby, and Elizabeth Bakerand husband, Joe, all of Coalfield, Betsy McGhhee and husband, Eugene,of Oliver Springs; and Lois Foster and Steva Lane Russell, both of OakRidge; and several extended family members and friends. The funeralwill be at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in the chapel of SharpFuneral Home in Oliver Springs. A graveside service will be at 11a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Estes Cemetery in Coalfield. The familywill receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.[Oak Ridger]
