These families created a big hairball in Roane County, with little
paperwork to be found, except when they get in trouble. My Silveyline is in the middle of it all.........Elizabeth Liles Roberts, dau.of old Robert, had a daughter she named Jerome Jane Roberts. MosesWinters is most likely the father. Jane married, then divorced aTaylor. Russells involved a bit, too. Could have made for some hardfeelings, I guess. Here are my notes:
1868--Book Q, P 248 Jerome Roberts buys from John Coker and wife (hersister, Lydia) 70 acres, 14th district
1870 Roane Census--14th dist, Kingston P.O. AGE WRONG
Jame Roberts, 38, Ellen 5, Wm 3, Sarah Roberts 25 Cook
In 1860, she is still in her mother's household. Sarah is likely hersister, and I guess she has two kids by 1870--Ellen and Wm.
