    • Thomas Liles was born in TN in 1800, but his parents were born in NC.He married (1823) Mary Russell(b1800) Rev Thomas Liles was a well todo farmer. He acquired much of the Samuel Borum property in HenValley. He and Mary in turn sold one fararm to his son, Thomas Jr. in1878, which is now the C.H. Smith place, a second farm of 80 acres tohis daughter, Latha Jane Shipwash (Mrs. John) in 1880, and a thirdfarm to his grandson, William Churchill "Ole Uncle Bill" Liles, Jr onMay 24, 1888.
