      The Rev. James "Jim" Albert Fritts, 69, of Coalfield, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at his home.
      Mr. Fritts had served as pastor of several Baptist churches in the local area.
      He was born in Oliver Springs on July 17, 1928, the son of John and Lillie Walls Fritts, both now deceased. He had lived in this area all his life.
      Mr. Fritts had retired in 1985 from Martin Marietta Energy Systems after working for 32 years as an operator. He began his employment at the federal facilities in Oak Ridge when they were managed by Union Carbide Nuclear Division.
      After retirement, he drove a school bus for Coalfield School for six years.
      He is survived by his wife, Annah Mac Fritts; a daughter, Shirley Tucker and her husband, J.T., of Oak Ridge; three sons, Gary Lynn Fritts of Coalfield, James Fritts Jr. of Oak Ridge, and David Ray Fritts of Oliver Springs; and seven grandchildren, Brian Tucker, Bradley Tucker, Kristen Tucker, Kandace Tucker, Jamie Fritts, Lisa Fritts Curnutt and Stephen Fritts; and five great-grandchildren.
      Mr. Fritts is also survived by two sisters, Otella Harvey and her husband, Raymond, of Oliver Springs, and Grace Smith and her husband, Howard, of White Pine; a brother, George Fritts and his wife, Mae, of Oliver Springs; and by several nieces and nephews.
      A sister, Josephine Padavick, and two brothers, Charles Fritts and John Fritts Jr., died earlier.
      The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Feb. 24, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Jim Carr and the Rev. Lloyd Napier officiating.
      A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Davis Cemetery in Coalfield.
      The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
      The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to Coalfield Public Library, Coalfield, TN 37719.
