- DUNCAN, ALMA JUANITA, 84, of Oliver Springs, died Thursday, Dec. 12,2002, at Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge. Born Feb. 12,1918, in Coalfield, she was the daughter of William Jackson and MaryLou Etta McGlothin Jackson, both now deceased. She lived in OliverSprings for 65 years and was a member of Oliver Springs UnitedMethodist Church. She was a homemaker and the widow of John HayesDuncan. Her family said she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.Mrs. Duncan is survived by her daughter, Carol Qualls and her husband,Doug, of Oliver Springs; her son, Norman Duncan and his wife, Diana,of Johnson City; a grandson, Chris Duncan and his wife, Kristy, whomade their home with her; three granddaughters, Amanda Duncan, AudrereyDuncan and Amber Duncan; and a great-grandson, Brady Duncan of OliverSprings. She is also survived by her brother, William R. Jackson ofClinton; and two sisters-in-law,Gladys Foust of Lake City andElizabeth Wallace of Clinton. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m.Saturday, Dec. 14, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in OliverSprings with the Rev. Bobby Barton officiating. The graveside servicewill follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway. Thefamily will receive friends from noon and 2 p.m. Saturday at thefuneral home. [From The Oak Ridger]
