- Ershal G. Foster joined his heavenly father in heaven Saturday, June 18, 2011. He was a long time member of Clinch River Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Ershal enjoyed music. He loved to sing, played the guitar and wrote several songs. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and his special great granddaughter, Addison.
Preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ruby Foster; brother, S.L. Foster.
Survived by his wife, Violet Foster; daughters, Melissa (Terry) Rogers and Melody (James) Smith; brother, Dr. Don Foster; sisters, Joy (Sam) Rice, Jewell Foster, Ruby Reed (Paul), Karen (David) Weis; grandchildren, Brittany Rowe and Blake Smith; great granddaughter, Addison Rowe; host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the physicians and nurses at Methodist Medical Center - MICU and 4th floor staff and to Professional Case Management for their devoted care and kindness. The family will receive friends Monday, June 20, 2011, from 5-7PM at Clinch River Baptist Church. Funeral service will
follow with Rev. Tom Byrge, Rev. Keith Tillman and Kenny Clotfelter officiating. Graveside service will be Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at 11:00AM at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
