- COKER, BILLY H. - age 81, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014. Bill lived his entire life then died in the place he called "home", Coalfield, TN. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved all sports, especially baseball, and was an enthusiaastic fan of the Tennessee Vols and the Coalfield Yellow Jackets. He dearly enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and his great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel Lee Coker; mother-in-law, Frances Hammonons West. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sherline Hammons Coker; daughter, Sherry Wilson and husband, Rhett; son, William T. (Ted) Coker and wife, Kate; grandchildren, Johnathan Lee Coker, Savannah Nicole Coker, Shawn and Tara Humphreys, Ashley Wilson and Adam Halstead, and Scarlett Wilson; great-grandson, Hayden Turpen; sisters, Barbara Halburnt and husband, Jim and Beverly Parrott and husband, Robert; brother, Barry Coker and wife, Linda; special uncle, Alvin (Wimp) Coker; h his constant companion, "Pup"; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. in the old sanctuary at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. The funeral service will begin at 1:00, with Bro. Garvan Walls officiating. Interment will follow in Estes Cemetery, Coalfield.
