      Robert was a Methodist minister. The family Bible states that he beganpreaching in 1810. Robert opposed the division of the Methodist Churchand didn?t want to be associated with the south branch. He was astrong Union man during the Civil War and was an old line Whig,politically. According to the family Bible of his son, Robert andSarah were the parents of only two children. Their graves are reportedto be at Eatons Cross Road, Loudon County behind a house that belongedto Samuel M. Williams. The graveyard is behind the house.
