  Faye Jean Hembree, age 79, a resident of Coalfield, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, December 24, 2012, at the home of her niece, Dawn Riley. Ms. Hembree was born November 19, 1933 in Coalfield. She lived in the Wheat Community of Roane County for 9 years. Faye was a faithful Christian lady who put God first in her life. She was a member of Big Mountain Baptist Church, Coalfield Senior Citizens and the Coalfield Genealogy Society. Ms. Hembree had a wonderful memory which allowed her to travel back in time and share stories of the past with friends and family. She had a vast knowledge of the Coalfield Community and the families that have lived there. She was preceded in death by her parents; Elmer Holmes Hembree and Maude Eloise Estes Hembree, and by a sister, Ruth Wayne Cogdill. Ms. Faye is survived by three sisters; Elgie Rochelle Bailey of Coalfield, Georgeanna Koivu and husband, Ray of Harriman, Barbara Tinker of Coalfield and Evelyn Cogdill of Michigan, by several nieces and nephews who she considered as her own children; Dwayne Ashley and wife, Susan, , Sandy and Jennifer Koivu, Dawn Riley and husband, Bryan, Dion Tinker and wife, Wendy, Heather Patterson and husband, Jerry, Holly Bowling, Jeanne Benitez and Wilma Lee Garbaz and husband, Louis. She is also survived by a host of great-nieces and great nephews, special friends and extended family members. The family expresses their gratitude to Covenant Hospice for the care and professionalism provided for Ms. Faye, And especially to nurses; Billie Matchett, Joyce Lloyd and Diana Kries. The family will receive friends Friday, December 28, 2012, between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 pm, at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8:00 pm, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dewey Brown officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 11:00 am, at the Estes Cemetery in Coalfield. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
